Program Rules
- Each student must register under his or her school's name and select the correct grade level.
- A student may register only one time each month.
- No student may obtain help from others while taking the Pre- and Post-Quizzes. (For example, teachers, friends or parents may not help answer questions during the quiz.)
- During the quizzes, students receive 500 points for each correct answer and lose 1 point for each second taken to complete the quiz.
- Each grade receives a team score. The score is calculated by adding together the top 20 student scores for the month.
- Only the scores of students who have completed the Pre-Quiz, Scavenger Hunt, and Post-Quiz (in that order) will be included in the team score.
- The eligible school with the highest grade specific team score each month wins the NSU-SOS trophy and visit from the FBI when possible.
- Each month, the program (and consequently the team scores) will reset/start over. New schools may register and begin at any time during the school year (September - May).
- Anyone suspected of cheating or tampering (hacking) with the quiz database will be disqualified.
- NSU-SOS administrators or anyone affiliated with the quiz process are not responsible for any technical issues that may affect the delivery of the program content including the Pre- and Post-Quizzes.
- It is at the discretion of NSU-SOS administrators to suspend or remove any registration at any time without having to notify the participant.
